I have recently been commissioned by Barbara Coupar , Director of Catholic Education Scotland, to work on an icon of  “Jesus The Teacher ” for February 2018 to  celebrate the 100th  anniversary of the Education Act, when Catholic schools came under state governance.  The icon’s purpose is to inspire a prayerful focus on the unique contribution each community has made to serving not just the Catholic community, but the whole of Scottish society  through our schools. The hope is that the icon will be a focus for a pilgrimage across the dioceses and as it journeys to each geographical area, the history and story of each community will be heard. I am very excited about this icon and I am already in the planning stages of the sketches.
